NaNO/NaNES Pantser turned Plotter

I’m so over the panic. I only have 13 days to make up a little over 39,000 words. NO PROBLEM, none whatsoever.

Okay, so maybe I’m a little freaked. Typically I wouldn’t care, but I really want to write this story. I don’t usually have problems producing word count, but for some reason it’s like pulling teeth. Why is that?

Hmmm, well after three hours of trying to write and a disappointing 1281 words, I plopped in bed and it hit me. I’m having problems with this story because I don’t know much about it. And seriously, I don’t want to wonder around aimlessly in the desert of empty words. I at least want to have some sort of direction. Maybe even a *cough, cough* plot.

Goodness, what has happened to this pantser? I discovered plotting works, at least as long as I give myself permission to sway from the plot as I write. I’ve discovered that by having a tentative direction for my hero and heroine it saves me a lot of work during revisions.

So guess what? I’m either going to plot this story out or I’m going to jump to the suspense I already have plotted. Problem with the suspense is, I can’t do anything with it for a while, and well, I really need to get this second biblical finished, and then move on to the third one.

If you think about it today, you might pray for me. Pray God grant me direction with my writing and with this story. I love the idea of it. I love my hero and heroine and the obstacles they have to overcome in order to find their happily ever after.

On a side note, be watching for upcoming reviews of the following holiday books:

1. Christmas Roses by Amanda Cabot
2. Season of Joy by the awesome, talented (am I scoring points?) Virginia Carmichael
3. Legacy of Love by Christine Johnson
